Darryl Denning,
Classical, Flamenco and Baroque Guitarist. His extensive concert career includes numerous solo tours of Europe, the United States, two tours of Mexico for the U.S. Embassy, and a tour of Russia with the Occidental College Glee Club. He has given concerts nationally for Columbia Artists and has appeared on numerous local series including the Southern California Early Music Series, the Los Angeles Bach Festival and the Dabney Chamber Series at Caltech. His latest compact disc is Classical Guitar Artistry. In May 1998, Citadel Records will re-release his Varese-Sarabande recording of Crisis--Suite for Guitar by Miklos Rozsa, which Denning arranged in collaboration with Rozsa from the film score of Crisis, which starred Cary Grant and Jose Ferrer. Denning has also recorded for Glendale and Legend Records. He was a participant in Rudolf Serkin's Marlboro Festival, has been on the BBC in London, Radio Spain, Mexican National Television, has been featured on the Public Broadcasting System, and is listed in the "International Who's Who in Music". His debut in Wigmore Hall was praised by the London Times for the "high level of musicianship and the professionalism and insight of his performance." He hosted the GFA (Guitar Foundation of America) International Guitar Festival in Los Angeles, and has sponsored numerous masterclasses by world class guitarists. Mr. Denning is the Director of Performing and Creative Arts and also the Guitar Instructor for Caltech, Pasadena and is an Applied Professor of Music (Classical Guitar) at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
