Lori Andrews is a gifted and energetic performer who takes the harp beyond tradition and into the elements of jazz, fusion and R&B. She has performed for President Clinton and the King and Queen of Spain, and entertained a list of celebrities including Barbara Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Jack Nicholson, Clint Eastwood and many more. Lori has appeared in Eastwoods' movies "In the Line of Fire:" and "Bird", also playing harp on camera in "Beaches", along with several other motion pictures. Her "on camera" appearances on television include Dynasty, Hotel, General Hospital, Melrose Place, Dallas and many others. She has her own record company entitled Jazharp Records and is currently promoting her 5th CD, "No Strings Attached." Lori has a unique style that captures the appeal of any audience. Hearing is believing.

Swinging Strings
Prior to the release of the Swinging Strings, I do not know of any other full-length jazz albums of unaccompanied harp, making the release of this CD somewhat of a historic event. - Scott Yanow, writer for JAZZIZ Magazine. This jazz album features great standards such as Take Five, Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby, Alice in Wonderland, and that dynamic Michael Franks' tune, Popsicle Toes, as well as some of Lori's original swing tunes. When strong bass lines are utilized, she sounds as if she has three hands! - Scott Yanow. This CD comprises 12 tunes with a straight-ahead jazz flavor.

Bossame Mucho
When one thinks of the harp, it is of unrelenting prettiness best suited for background music. While Lori Andrews can play softly, more often than not, she is cooking in a Latin, funk or straightahead groove, improvising like a pianist and often playing rhythmically and with intensity. On her third CD, Bossame Mucho, Andrews plays unaccompanied without overdubs, uplifting songs by the likes of Kenny Dorham, Sting, Grover Washington Jr., Clare Fischer and Jobim, in addition to her originals.

No Strings Attached
This album has some outstanding jazz artists including Hubert Laws on flute; Ricky Lawson (Yellowjackets, Michael Jackson) on drums; and Alec Milstein (Jeff Lorber, Diana Ross) on bass. There is quite a collection of music on this CD including 3 vocal tracks. There is a version of Take Five which has been renamed Take That! also Song for My Father and Alice in Wonderland. Arrangements by Swedish Guitarist Erik Lundmark and co-production by drummer M.B. Gordy. This is a very noteworthy CD, a definite contribution to the small World of jazz harp albums.

Produced, composed, and arranged by Lori Andrews, this CD features the electric harp with bass, drums, sax, flute, guitar, vibes, violin, and percussion. A very dynamic project...
